I walked through the city, waiting for it to feel familiar.
Nothing looked the same.
I couldn’t make the streets remember.
The sun warmed the air around us.
Not even the cold winds rolled in from the lake to visit.
But I closed my eyes and then you were there.
How well I forget, until I remember.
